When Mayor Nutter announced that the City of Philadelphia was facing an unprecedented budget crisis because of the downfall of the national economy, he also announced an unprecedented effort to engage the citizens of Philadelphia in a real discussion about the challenges facing the City and gather their input and ideas BEFORE developing the City's new budget.

Over the past two months, the Nutter Administration has listened to thousands of Philadelphians - during budget workshops, around kitchen tables, through employee surveys and meetings with stakeholders and citizens all across the City.
