Nutter meets with City Council

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 9TH
On Monday, February 9, Mayor Nutter met with City Council in an open meeting to discuss some of the painful budget decisions facing the City.
With a $1 billion budget deficit over five years, Mayor Nutter has asked City departments to prepare spending scenarios that assume 10%, 20% and 30% reductions in order to begin a real discussion about tradeoffs and priorities.

During the discussion, he stressed that these are only scenarios -- they are not decisions -- and a final balanced budget would only be prepared after the benefit of public input.
