Mission
The Mayor's Action Center (MAC), formerly known as the Mayor's Office of Information and Complaints, was established under Article IV, Section 4-106 of the Philadelphia Home Rule Charter. This office is responsible for receiving and answering all requests for information about the City, its government, and other related agencies or entities about which the citizen might inquire. The MAC also receives and initiates preliminary investigations on complaints concerning the operation (and misoperation) of city government.
The Mayor's Action Center corresponds as an official voice of the Mayor to citizens, organizations and other agencies, both public and private, annually effecting the correct priority of over 200,000 inquiries, concerns and requests for service through creative problem solving techniques. It is staffed by a core group of qualified and culturally diverse staff who maintain an excellent working knowledge of city government through research and established contacts. The MAC, additionally, plays a key role in various interdepartmental initiatives, as requested.
Within a major urban setting the Mayor's Action Center is exemplary in its overall expertise, ability to creatively problem solve and willingness to address citizen concerns.
