Effective May 1, 2012, Council Bill 110758 renames the Business Privilege Tax the "Business Income and Receipts Tax" and the Business Privilege License the "Commercial Activity License". This change will not be reflected on the actual Business Income and Receipts Tax forms until next tax season.

On-line Services
To apply for a Business Tax Account Number, file a School Income Tax return, a 2006 through 2010 BPT-EZ return, a 2009 or 2010 BPT long return, a 2006 through 2010 Net Profit return or a Wage Tax Reconciliation return online, click here. You can now pay the Business Privilege License fee or the tax due from on-line filing of the returns listed above using a credit card. A user fee will be added to the amount due when paying by credit card.

ROAD Program (Returns On A Disk)
Business Income and Receipts, Net Profits, School Income and Wage Reconciliation Tax Returns can be filed electronically by using "ROAD". The program eliminates computation errors and the need for blank tax returns. Payments must be mailed into the office or submitted using our ACH Credit or ACH Debit option.

All tax payments can be made electronically via our Electronic Funds Transfer program. Returns must be mailed into the office or submitted using our "ROAD" program.
EFT payments cannot be made online. Please refer to the EFT User's Manual located in the Electronic Payments section below for instructions or contact the Electronic Government Unit at egovservices@phila.gov
