2012 SPRING ART SHOW BULLETINPURPOSE The Spring Art Show is the culmination of the year's Visual Arts Programs. The participants are given a chance to see their work honored on a citywide level. The public is given the opportunity to see what is happening in the Department's facilities. This develops future support for our programs and gives us the opportunity to recruit new participants.
EXHIBITThe Spring Art Show will be on exhibit from Monday, May 14th, 2012 till Monday, May 21st, 2012 in the Center Court of the Gallery at Market East, 9th and Market Streets.
AWARDS PRESENTATION
The Awards Ceremony and Dinner Reception will take place at Carousel House, located Belmont Avenue and North Concourse Drive on Thursday, June 7th, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. This will take place in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Spring Art Show. All award winners, staff and friends will be invited. Each district will make arrangements to bring their participants (who have work in the show) to the Awards Presentation. Leaders, Visual Art Chairpersons, District Managers, Advisory Councils, and all district resources are asked to cooperate in effort to have all winners present at the ceremony. Ten Best in Show Awards will be presented. Invitations will be distributed at the Show Hanging.
SELECTION OF EXHIBIT ITEMS
District Managers and District Art Chairpersons are responsible for arranging the selection of entries from their districts. Work may be chosen from a District Level Art Show or by interaction between facilities which wish to participate, and the District Art Chairperson. Each district should be sure that the work for the show represents the best results of the various arts and crafts programs in the district.
