These multi-purpose centers provide programs and services designed for the older adult population. Provided programs include free health screening, help with transportation, entitlement needs, active and passive activities, full meals for fifty cents. Two social workers.

There are six Older Adult Centers (O.A.C.) in Philadelphia under the aegis of the Recreation Department:

In addition to the listed Older Adult Centers, programs for seniors are also conducted at many recreation centers throughout the city.

The Recreation Department sponsors special events for Philadelphia's senior citizens:

Open to all Philadelphia County residents, age 50 & over.  These games are designed to provide a wholesome experience that offers our active senior population a chance to have fun and show their capabilities through participation in a variety of activities.

SENIOR ART CAMP

Seniors from all over the city learn painting, drawing and fabric art for one week  in September. Call  215-685-2736 for further information.
