LIFEGUARD TRAINING & CPR TRAINING CLASSES

Before an interested candidate can enroll in a lifeguard training class, he/she must pass a lifeguard screening.

The lifeguard screening consists of the following:

  • Swimming 12 lengths of the pool continuously using both freestyle and breaststroke
  • A  10 lb. brick retrieval from a deep well, (12 ft).   The candidate must return to the surface and swim 20 yards using only his/her feet.  The brick must be out of the water with both hands and it has to be done within 1 minute and 40 seconds.
