Lawyer Referral
When a call is placed to LRIS, the caller will speak to a staff attorney about his or her legal problem, If a referral is needed, the caller will receive the name of one LRIS panel attorney practicing in the appropriate area of law.
The caller may then meet with the attorney for a fee of $25 for the first half-hour consultation. The fee arrangement after the initial half-hour is negotiated between the client and the attorney. Additionally, there is the possibility of free lawyers for income qualifying individuals. Please visit both the Tangled Title and Tips pages for futher information.

The Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) was established by the Philadelphia Bar Association over fifty years ago. The Service is designed to help the Philadelphia community by answering basic legal questions, directing callers to appropriate agencies or referring callers to attorneys in private practice, LRIS receives in excess of 60,000 calls per year and makes approximately 20,000 referrals to nearly 400 attorneys.
