Friends groups are community-led organizations established to support and advocate for specific park areas. In partnership with staff, they work to create welcoming, community green spaces and positive experiences with nature at the neighborhood level.
Throughout the year, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation hires seasonal staff ranging from clerks and environmental educators to geographic information system interns. These positions can be either paid or unpaid for academic credit, and part- or full-time.
Volunteers are essential to the health, cleanliness and vitality of the City’s parks and recreation spaces, which is why we need your help! Please consider volunteering with an Advisory Council or a Friends Group to help keep our spaces clean and safe!
