You are invited to take part in an important event to help shape future community-police relations in Philadelphia. The Mayor and Police Commissioner Ramsey have publicly agreed to implement the recommendations in both the President’s Task Force Report on 21st Century Policing and the Department of Justice’s report on the Philadelphia Police Department’s use of deadly force. Both reports strongly recommend greater police-community relations and strong community engagement policies.
We are holding this forum to ask YOU – youth, young people, and the adults who work with you -- for YOUR INPUT to help us create specific recommendations for the police department to create better relationships with the community.
Adults receiving this email, please help us to identify 15 young people who can participate in this forum and send a representative or two from your agency.
Following the summit, we will hold another meeting to deliver your recommendations to police leadership.
Please respond to this invitation as soon as possible and let us know if you can participate. (Food and refreshments will be provided)
