Abatements

Real Estate Tax Abatements are available on qualifying construction, development, rehabilitation, or improvement to properties—for both industrial/commercial and residential properties. Learn more and find out if your property qualifies.

Non-Profit Tax Exemption

Many types of non-profit organizations are eligible for a full or partial property tax reduction. Typically, the property must be used for acceptable exemption purposes, such as educational, medical, religious, etc.

Disabled Veterans Real Estate Tax Exemption

Through legislation passed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, eligible veterans (or their surviving spouses) who have a 100% service-connected disability may qualify for a Real Estate Tax Exemption.

Homestead Exemption

For the first time ever, the City of Philadelphia is offering a Homestead Exemption--which means if you own your home, you can qualify for Real Estate Tax savings.

Longtime Owner Occupant Program

Homeowners with substantial changes in their property assessment may qualify for a discount of their Real Estate Tax bill with LOOP. There are income and other requirements to participate in the program. Apply by February 18, 2014 for this discount.

Catastrophic Loss

Property owners with a decrease in property value, due to a fire or other natural disaster, may qualify for a reduction in their property assessment.

Abatements & Exemptions

The City of Philadelphia offers a number of Abatement and Exemption programs that may reduce a property's Real Estate Tax bill. Abatements reduce taxes by applying credits to the amount of tax due. Exemptions provide tax relief by reducing a property's assessed value.
