Developer’s Services Operations Team
The Developer’s Services Operations Team was created to assist developers of large-scale projects (50 units or more) or Community Development Corporations with projects of 20 or more units, who are ready to begin the permitting process through various City operating departments and who face more complex permitting and infrastructure needs.
The Developer’s Services Operations Team meets the last Tuesday of every month. Representatives from various City agencies involved in the development process, including the Department of Licenses and Inspections, the Philadelphia Water Department, the City Planning Commission, the Fire Department and the Streets Department, attend. Developers and their design team can present plans for infrastructure use, water and sewer plans and zoning at the meeting to get preliminary comments on their project plans prior to formal submission. It is a great opportunity for developer’s and their architects and engineers to ask questions about the permitting and infrastructure issues. Developers creating market-rate housing pay a fee to use this service. The team can invite representatives from other agencies, such as the Philadelphia Gas Works or the Historical Commission, if the developer would like their input.
