Criteria

All nominees must possess a track record of actively mirroring the PCHR mission of reducing discrimination and intergroup tensions while promoting tolerance and respect among all people, regardless of differences in race, religion, ability, ethnicity, sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

PCHR Award for Arts and Culture

Offered to highlight the person or organization using art or cultural expression to strengthen cross-cultural bonds and promote harmony within the city

Nomination requirements:
 
o Individual or organization must reside or base operations in Philadelphia
o Recipient must be aged 18 and up
o Submission of a support letter detailing evidence of work in a particular community project or lesson series aiding in combating discrimination, harassment, bullying, and, or, intolerance

PCHR Award for Community Service

Offered to highlight the person or organization that acts in a consistent and selfless manner to improve quality among neighbors or residents in the city

Nomination requirements:
 
o Work of individual or organization must be in Philadelphia
o Recipient must be aged 18 and up
o Provide evidence of impact in lessening discrimination, harassment, bullying, and, or intolerance in neighborhood, employment, educational, housing or real estate dealings
o Submission of an endorsement letter from a nonrelated supporter

PCHR Award for Public Safety

Offered to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding public service in conflict resolution, community mediation or public safety education that helps build tolerance and unity

Nomination requirements:

o Designated for a member of a Philadelphia public safety agency
o Recipient must be aged 18 and up
o Provide evidence of impact of presence in community served
o Submission of a support letter from commanding officer, supervisor, or union representative and a support letter from a community partner

PCHR Award for Nonprofit Organization

Offered to highlight organizations that strengthen interactions among residents and, or, communities in the city, particularly among people of different backgrounds

Nomination requirements:

o Organizations must be based in Philadelphia
o Must be a federally-recognized 501(c)3 entity or in relationship with a sponsoring 501(c)3
o Must show concrete examples of impact in decreasing discrimination, harassment, bullying, and, or intolerance in employment, educational, housing or real estate dealings

PCHR Award for Corporate Responsibility

Offered to businesses actively working to improve the city through innovative hiring, and, or, community impact policies

Nomination requirements:

o Business must have operations in Philadelphia
o Must have at least one full-time employee that resides in Philadelphia
o Must demonstrate how actions or policies have helped to lessen discrimination, harassment, intolerance, and, or inequality, both at the company and in the wider community it serves
o Submission of a support letter from a community partner
