We educate home-based childcare providers about the risks of home health hazards caused by inadequate indoor air quality, pest-related asthma triggers, and safety hazards.
We evaluate childcare facilities for hazards and provide help to reduce those hazards. We address issues related to mold, radon, carbon monoxide, improper storage of toxic chemicals, and injury hazards.
We work closely with the Pennsylvania Integrated Pest Management Program (IPM) to teach childcare providers how to manage pests using safe and cost-effective methods.
IPM conducts a “Safer Spaces” workshop series that promotes keeping healthy environments through safe pest management and use of non-toxic household cleaning products.
