ATTENTION - Historical Commission closed while moving offices
May 04, 2016

The Philadelphia Historical Commission is the city’s principal public steward of historic resources. As part of the Charter-mandated reorganization of City agencies into the Department of Planning & Development, the Historical Commission is moving its offices from City Hall to the 13th floor of the City office building at 1515 Arch Street, also known as One Parkway. The Historical Commission’s new address will be:

Philadelphia Historical Commission
One Parkway, 13th floor
1515 Arch Street
Philadelphia, PA 19102

To facilitate the move, the Historical Commission’s offices will be closed to the public from Wednesday, May 4 to Monday, May 9, reopening on Tuesday, May 10 at 1515 Arch Street. The Historical Commission apologizes for any inconvenience resulting from the short notice.

During the move, the Historical Commission’s staff will answer telephone calls and respond to emails as the move permits. The staff will be available to address emergency situations such as Imminently Dangerous declarations. Email addresses will not change with the move. At this time, it is anticipated that the Historical Commission’s voice telephone numbers (215-686-7660, 7661, and 7662) will not change with the move, but email will be the most reliable means of contact until the new telephone connections are finalized. The fax number (215-686-7674) will likely change and will not be available during the move. The Historical Commission’s new fax number will be announced when available.

After the move, all public meetings of the Historical Commission and its advisory committees will be held in 1515 Arch Street.

The submission deadline for applications for the next round of reviews by the Architectural Committee and Historical Commission is Monday, May 9. During the closure, applications can be left in a box in the hallway outside the Historical Commission’s offices at Room 576, City Hall and in a box in the reception area at the City Planning Commission on the 13th floor of 1515 Arch Street.

Thank you for your patience with the move. The Historical Commission’s staff looks forward to serving you at its new offices at 1515 Arch Street, 13th floor.
