

A number of these first year interns become members of the next summer's more structured Legal Internship Program.
Interviews for first year summer interns are conducted late January through March, with offers being made in April. There is a one-day orientation offered to all first year summer interns.
All first year internships are volunteer. First year law students are encouraged to seek public interest stipends or 100% institutional covered financial aid work study.

The initial application does not require anything else be submitted. You will be asked for additional information as the hiring process moves forward.
Are there opportunities for first year law students?
Each summer we hire approximately 35-40 first year students who must be either work/study eligible or volunteer. There are no regularly paid positions for first year interns. There is only one initial interview and a 1L student is assigned to one unit (no rotation). Interviews of 1L summer interns are conducted late January through March, with offers being made in early April.
